The 1,483 sf, single-story house, built in 1963, underwent a front addition consisting of a primary bedroom, primary bathroom, porch, and foye. One existing bedrooms was also converted into a walk-in closet. The appearance of the house from the street was something that was discussed extensively with the clients, and it was ultimately decided to have 3 volumes with three different roofs at different heights. The main volume was topped with a Dutch hipped roof to imitate the garage roof, while for the entry area, which is set back from the other volumes, a gable was chosen. The area between the larger volumes was turned into an access courtyard.
